Inviting SCDECE Members to a new workshop our Local is providing:

Making Math Matter

Young children engage in significant mathematical thinking and reasoning in their play. Combining free play with intentional teaching, and promoting play with mathematical objects and mathematical ideas is pedagogically powerful. This workshop will focus on how we can embed mathematics best practices into our daily program. Participants will engage in activities and discussion with a focus on embedding math in play, planning for intentional instruction, math talks, and using learning trajectories to inform instruction.

When: May 14, 2019 OR May 23, 2019

Time: 9:15am-3:30am

Where: SCETF Office

351 King Street, Barrie, Unit #1

Cost: $15 + release time through PL Extension Funding

You must use your Professional Learning Extension Funding to pay for the release time needed for this workshop. Use code R20 – DECE PL Funding in ATE. The PL Extension Funding can also cover the cost of mileage and registration fee. ALL items you wish to have reimbursed must be included on your application. .Applications for the PL Extension Funding must be received to president@simcoedeces.com no later than Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

***If an Occasional DECE would like to attend, they are welcome to. However, there is no funding at this time available for Occasional DECEs so ALL expenses (the time/hours, mileage, lunch) will be at their own expense.
